June Home Sales in Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire Go Up
Single-family home sales in June this year were up compared to June of last year. There were 5,795 single-family home sales last month compared to 5,592 in June of last year, an increase of 4%. There were 2,429 condos sold in Massachusetts last month, up 11% from June of last year. This makes the sixth month in a row condo sales have increased compared to the same month in 2013.
In Southern New Hampshire*, the number of home sales rose 3% compared to last year. There were 1,088 home sales in Southern New Hampshire in June compared to 1,057 in June 2013. Average selling prices in June for all types of homes are up 6% in Southern New Hampshire. The average price was $258,601 compared to $242,888 last June.
Average selling prices for all types of homes in Massachusetts rose 6% in June 2014 compared to last June. Single-family home prices increased 5% from $416,114 last June to $436,691 in June 2014. Condo prices increased 6% from $283,109 to $301,206, and multi-family selling prices went up 9% to $407,433 last month compared to $373,353 last June.
