January Home Sales in Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire
The number of homes sold in Massachusetts in January 2014 rose 2% compared to January 2013. There were 4,250 home sales in Massachusetts in January 2014 compared to 4,184 in January of 2013.
In Southern New Hampshire*, home sales dropped 10% compared to last year. There were 508 home sales in Southern New Hampshire in January compared to 563 in January 2013.
Average home prices continue to rise. The average price for a home in Massachusetts last month was $368,333, an increase of 19% compared to prices in January of 2013. In Southern New Hampshire, the average selling price for a home was $247,599, an increase of 22% compared to the previous January.
