We’re happy to report significant growth in our company’s New Hampshire home sales in 2012 compared to 2011. McGeough Lamacchia Realty sold 61 homes in New Hampshire in 2012 compared to 34 home sales in 2011, a difference of 79%.
There are a few reasons for the significant growth in New Hampshire home sales.
In 2012 we decided to focus more attention on the New Hampshire market, which we believe will continue to grow this year. We’ve increased our television advertising to reach more New Hampshire home buyers and sellers and have expanded our team specifically dedicated to New Hampshire customers.
The New Hampshire housing market had a strong year in 2012. There were 16,871 home sales in New Hampshire in 2012, compared to 14,117 in 2011, an increase of 19.5%.
Katie Imperato, our Listing Agent for the Southern New Hampshire area, says that certain towns such as Nashua, Salem, and Manchester are really hot right now for buyers, and homes in these cities sell quickly. The seacoast area including Portsmouth is also very desirable for both first time buyers and those looking for a second home.
Cindy Johnson, our Buyer’s Agent for Southern New Hampshire, says, “I’m seeing more people in New Hampshire taking advantage of the interest rates which are still so low. And home prices are low as well but may start to go up, so people want to buy while they can and gain equity in their home.”
This year we’ll hope to reach even more home buyers in New Hampshire. This month we’ll be part of the Fox 25 Morning News On the Slopes segments, which will broadcast live every Friday until February 15 from select ski mountains—including Loon and Mount Sunapee in New Hampshire. We’ll show viewers what’s on the market and talk about what makes these areas so appealing to home buyers.
